Players - Patrick Berrogain
Guitartist, composer and arranger, Patrick Berrogain first became exposed to the music of Django Reinhardt and the musette repertoire at a young age while growing up in the south of France. It was not until living in San Diego, however, that he formed his own Gypsy jazz group Hot Club of San Diego with fellow ex-patriate and rhythm guitarist, Alain Cola. In addition to Gypsy jazz, Patrick is well-versed in many styles and has had extensive performance experience in California and abroad making for a unique and varied career.
Before moving to Los Angeles to study jazz at the Musicians Institute of Technology, he toured the world with an Italian pop/rock band, Delta Landa. Upon graduating in 1985 with special mention, he moved to San Diego. In addition to performing with Hot Club, Patrick also performs regularly as a solo artist and with his wife Rosemary.
Patrick has been a featured guest on San Diego Jazz station KSDS. Some of his credits include performances at Django Fest LA, Django Fest San Francisco, and concerts at the Musicians Institute in the US and Europe. He’s toured with Gypsy guitarist Angelo Debarre, performed with Jazz legend Anita O'Day, and opened for Al Dimeola with his fusion jazz band, The "French Connection."
